~*Advice for New Young Moms*~

Some things that I never knew before becoming a mom at 19 and then again at 21....
  • Your child may never sleep in a crib, ever.
  • Your child may not be able to pronounce certain words correctly and he might say CLOCK without the "L" in it, in public all the time (among other bad words)
  • You really should sleep when they do, after 2 and a half years I wish I would have done more napping.
  • Your child will hurt your feelings. Nathan called me fat the other day when I was changing..
  • You will anticipate nap time some days like a drug addict looking for a fix.
  • Your child will ruin every mini blind in the house trying to look outside.
  • Your child will eventually learn how to take their diaper off without ever removing their pants.
  • Your child will run into everything(walls, doors, tables, etc.) and hit some part of their head or face causing a bruise or a mark.
  • Your child will watch the same cartoons over and over and over again until you know every word but it will never get old to them.

If you have more to add feel free to post!! This is all I can think of now!!

Sooner than you think, your child will grow up and have children of their own. And you will think, "Wow, that went fast"!

You have learned a great deal as a good, good mother at a very young age, my dear. I applaud you! I'll add a couple of items I learned but not by 21!

Your child will love you unconditionally (until about age 12ish).

Your child will grow webs around your heart that contract and expand with his or her happiness level. This never stops, ever.

Your child will remind you that you promised to raise them in the knowledge of God's love and send you marching back to church. God will welcome you back.

Your child will put you on your knees every night of your life but twice and three times as soon as you place the driver's license in their hands.

Your child will fly the nest, as your mom says, leaving you spinning and wondering how it went so fast! Really.

Love you!
